بَابُ إِحْرَازِ الْقُوتِ‌

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْجَهْمِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ الرِّضَا ع يَقُولُ‌ إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ إِذَا أَدْخَلَ طَعَامَ سَنَتِهِ خَفَّ ظَهْرُهُ وَ اسْتَرَاحَ وَ كَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع لَا يَشْتَرِيَانِ عُقْدَةً حَتَّى يُحْرَزَ إِطْعَامُ سَنَتِهِمَا.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from al-Hassan ibn al-Jahm who has said the following: “I heard al-Rida’ (a.s.), saying, ‘If one saves food for one year, his burden becomes light and he feels comfortable. Abu Ja’far and abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, would not buy anything before reserving their food for one year.”

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الذُّهْلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْمَدَائِنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ع قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ إِذَا أَحْرَزَتْ قُوتَهَا اسْتَقَرَّتْ.

2. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from abu Muhammad al-Dhuhliy from abu Ayyub al-Mad’iniy from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al- Rahman from ibn Bukayr from abu al-Hassan (a.s.), who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘When a soul reserves its sustenance it settles down.”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ

قَالَ سَلْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ‌ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ قَدْ تَلْتَاثُ عَلَى صَاحِبِهَا إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهَا مِنَ الْعَيْشِ مَا تَعْتَمِدُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هِيَ أَحْرَزَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا اطْمَأَنَّتْ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Harun ibn Muslim from Mas’adah ibn Sadaqah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that Salman, may Allah be pleased with him, has said, ‘The soul disturbs its owner when he does not have dependable sustenance; but upon reserving sustenance his soul becomes comfortable and settled.”
