1. Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from ‘Abd al-Malik ibn ‘Utbah from al- Nakha’iy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a castrated slave; if he can look at his mistress when she takes a bath. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not lawful.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the case of a man who has a castrated slave; if he can go to his women and provide them water for wudu and look at their hairs. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he can do so.”’

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il ibn Bazi’ who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), about the veil of the free women before castrated ones. He (the Imam) said, ‘They would go in the presence of the daughters of abu al-Hassan (a.s.), and they would not use veils.’ I then asked if they were free. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, they were not free.’ I then asked, ‘Is veil necessary the free ones before them (castrated) ones?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not so.’”
