بَابُ الْغَدَاءِ وَ الْعَشَاءِ

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِنَّ يَعْقُوبَ ع كَانَ لَهُ مُنَادٍ يُنَادِي كُلَّ غَدَاةٍ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ عَلَى فَرْسَخٍ أَلَا مَنْ أَرَادَ الْغَدَاءَ فَلْيَأْتِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِ يَعْقُوبَ وَ إِذَا أَمْسَى يُنَادِي أَلَا مَنْ أَرَادَ الْعَشَاءَ فَلْيَأْتِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِ يَعْقُوبَ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Ali from Ali ibn Asbat from Ya’qub ibn Salim from al-Muthanna’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said Ya’qub (a.s.), had an announcer who every morning announced from his house to three miles, ‘Those who want lunch can come to the house of Ya’qub.’ In the evening the announcement said, ’Those who want dinner can come to the house of Ya’qub.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي شِهَابِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ قَالَ:

شَكَوْتُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَا أَلْقَى مِنَ الْأَوْجَاعِ وَ التُّخَمِ فَقَالَ لِي تَغَدَّ وَ تَعَشَّ وَ لَا تَأْكُلْ بَيْنَهُمَا شَيْئاً فَإِنَّ فِيهِ فَسَادَ الْبَدَنِ أَ مَا سَمِعْتَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ- لَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيها بُكْرَةً وَ عَشِيًّا.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa’id from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Ali ibn al-Salt from the son of brother of Shihab ibn ‘Abd Rabbihi who has said the following: “I once complained before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), against pain and an upset stomach that I (often) experienced . He (the Imam) said to me, ‘Take lunch and dinner and do not eat anything in between because it harms the body. Have you not heard Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, saying, “For them there is their sustenance in the early morning and evening?”(19:62)’
