بَابُ التَّمَنْدُلِ وَ مَسْحِ الْوَجْهِ بَعْدَ الْوُضُوءِ

عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَبِي مَحْمُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِذَا غَسَلْتَ يَدَكَ لِلطَّعَامِ فَلَا تَمْسَحْ يَدَكَ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَزَالُ الْبَرَكَةُ فِي الطَّعَامِ مَا دَامَتِ النَّدَاوَةُ فِي الْيَدِ.

1. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from abu Mahmud from his father from a man who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’When you wash your hand for food do not wipe it with a towel because blessings continue in the food as long as hands have moisture in them/”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُرَازِمٍ قَالَ:

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ لَمْ يَمَسَّ الْمِنْدِيلَ وَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ بَعْدَ الطَّعَامِ مَسَّ الْمِنْدِيلَ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Um ay r from Murazim who has said the following: “I saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), when making wudu (washing his hands) before food did not wipe his hands with a towel, but he wiped them when he (the Imam) made wudu after food.’”

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع

‌ أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ أَنْ يَمْسَحَ الرَّجُلُ يَدَهُ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ وَ فِيهَا شَيْ‌ءٌ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ تَعْظِيماً لِلطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَمَصَّهَا أَوْ يَكُونَ عَلَى جَنْبِهِ صَبِيٌّ يَمَصُّهَا

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from abu al-Mighra’ from Zayd al-Shahham who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), disliked wiping his hands with a towel because of food stains due to sanctity of food, until he (the Imam) absorbed them or a child next to him (the Imam) did so.’”

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ بَعْضِ رِجَالِهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

مَسْحُ الْوَجْهِ بَعْدَ الْوُضُوءِ يَذْهَبُ بِالْكَلَفِ وَ يَزِيدُ فِي الرِّزْقِ.

4. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from certain persons of his people from Ibrahim ibn ‘Uqbah in a marfu manner has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Wiping one’s hands with a towel after wudu (washing) removes troubles and increases sustenance.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ رَفَعَهُ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ قَالَ:

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَشَكَوْتُ إِلَيْهِ الرَّمَدَ فَقَالَ لِي أَ وَ تُرِيدُ الطَّرِيفَ‌ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي إِذَا غَسَلْتَ يَدَكَ بَعْدَ الطَّعَامِ فَامْسَحْ حَاجِبَيْكَ وَ قُلْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ- الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الْمُحْسِنِ الْمُجْمِلِ الْمُنْعِمِ الْمُفْضِلِ قَالَ فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَمَا رَمِدَتْ عَيْنِي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ‌ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ*.

5. Ali ibn Muhammad in a marfu‘ manner has narrated from al-Mufaddal who has said the following: “I once visited abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and complained before him (the Imam) about eye ache. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do you want something unique?’ He (the Imam) then said to me, ‘When you wash your hands after eating food, wipe your eye brows and say three times, “All praise belongs to Allah, the Benefactor, the Graceful, the Munificent, the Pre-eminent.’” He (the narrator) has said, ‘I followed the instruction and thereafter my eyes did not experience any pain and ache, all praise belongs to Allah, Cherisher of the worlds.’”
