The Yemenite al-Jaza‘ (Carnelian) and The Crystals

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Ubayd ibn Yahya from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn from his father from his grandfather has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘Use Yemenite carnelian as the ring; it dispels plots, the evil plans of defiant Satans.’”

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Rayyan from Ali ibn Muhammad known as ibn Wahbah al-‘Abdasiy which is a town in Wasit in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Al-Billur (crystal) is very good for the stone of a ring.”’
