1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘ Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), bought a stumper for one hundred dinar in his own honor.”

2. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from al-Hajj al from Safwan al-Jammal who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Had people known the fact of how Allah gives strength to the weak to carry the load, carry-animals would not become expensive.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has stated this Hadith. ‘On the peak of every camel there is a Satan and you must degrade him before yourselves by mentioning the name of Allah, only Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious is He who carries loads.’”

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr from Sulayman al-Rahhal from ibn abu Ya‘fur who has said the following: “Once, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), passed by me and I was walking next to my camel. He (the Imam) asked, ‘Why are you not riding?’ I replied, ‘My camel has become weak, thus I decided to provide it relief.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘May Allah grant you blessings. Ride your camel, Allah carries for both the weak and the strong.’”

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَنْ يُتَخَطَّى الْقِطَارُ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ لِمَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ قِطَارٍ إِلَّا وَ مَا بَيْنَ الْبَعِيرِ إِلَى الْبَعِيرِ شَيْطَانٌ.

6. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited to cross and intersect the row of camels. Someone asked, ‘Why is this, O Messenger of Allah?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘In every row of camels between every two camels there is a Satan.’”

اشْتَرَيْتُ إِبِلًا وَ أَنَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ مُقِيمٌ فَأَعْجَبَنِي إِعْجَاباً شَدِيداً فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلِ ع فَذَكَرْتُهَا لَهُ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ وَ لِلْإِبِلِ أَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهَا كَثِيرَةُ الْمَصَائِبِ قَالَ فَمِنْ إِعْجَابِي بِهَا أَكْرَيْتُهَا وَ بَعَثْتُ بِهَا مَعَ غِلْمَانٍ لِي إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ قَالَ فَسَقَطَتْ كُلُّهَا فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ‌ فَلْيَحْذَرِ الَّذِينَ يُخالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذابٌ أَلِيمٌ‌.

7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from Husayn ibn ‘Umar ibn Yazid from his father who has said the following: “I once bought a camel, when I was living in al-Madinah, and I liked it very intensely. I then visited Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, and mentioned it to him. He (the Imam) said, ‘What do you have to do with camels? Did you not know that camels have many troubles?’ Because of my happiness with it I gave it for hire with two of my slaves to al-Kufah. He (the narrator) has said that all of them fell. I then visited him (the Imam) and informed him about what had happened. He (the Imam) said, ‘. . . thus, those who oppose His commands must remain afraid of being afflicted by mischief or painful suffering.’ (24:63)”

8. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from al-Hajj al from Safwan al-Jammal who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said, ‘Buy a camel for me, an ugly looking one, because it lives longer.’ I then bought for him (the Imam) a camel for eighty dirham and brought it to him (the Imam).” In another Hadith it is said that he (the Imam) said, ‘Buy the black and ugly looking one because it lives longer.’

9. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad from ibn al-Qaddah from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and from his father Maymun who has said the following: “Once we left with abu Ja‘far (a.s.), to Ard of Taybah (name of a place between Makkah and al-Madinah) and ‘Amr ibn Dinar was with him (the Imam) as well as other ones of his people. We stopped at Taybah as long as Allah willed, and abu Ja‘far rode a difficult camel. ‘Amr ibn Dinar said, ‘Your camel is very difficult.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You must take notice that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said the following. ‘On the peak of every camel there is a Satan, so you must degrade and make him lowly by mentioning the name of Allah on it because He is Allah who carries loads.’ He (the Imam) then entered Makkah and we also entered Makkah without assuming the state of Ihram (because of entering before the passing of a month from his previous Ihram).”’

10. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Ali al-Sindiy from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from a man from ibn abu Ya‘fur who has said the following: “I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘Beware of red camels because the life of such camels is the shortest.’”

Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has chosen something from everything and from camels, He has chosen she-camels and from sheep He has chosen ewes.’”
