قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ نِسَاءَكُمْ يُدَافِعْنَ الرِّجَالَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ أَ مَا تَسْتَحْيُونَ. وَ - فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ أَنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع قَالَ: أَ مَا تَسْتَحْيُونَ وَ لَا تَغَارُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَى الْأَسْوَاقِ وَ يُزَاحِمْنَ الْعُلُوجَ.

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin once said, ‘O people of Iraq I am informed that your women push men on the road, are you not ashamed?’ In another Hadith it is said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), said, ‘Are you not ashamed of not exercising vigilance when your women go out in the market and become crowded with al-‘Aluj (uneducated faithless ones)!”’
