6. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from Zakariya ibn Adam from al-Kahiliy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when you offer ‘Aqiqah say, I turn my face to the One who has invented the skies and earth, purely in obedience to Him and I am not a pagan. My Salat (prayer), acts of worship, life and death are all in obedience to Allah, Cherisher of the worlds who has no partner. O Lord, it is from You and for You. O Lord, this is from so and so son of so and so.’”
