عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الصَّبِيِّ فَقَالَ إِذَا تَحَرَّكَ وَ كَانَ لَهُ خَمْسَةُ أَشْبَارٍ- وَ أَطَاقَ الشَّفْرَةَ وَ عَنْ ذَبِيحَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنَّ نِسَاءً لَيْسَ مَعَهُنَّ رَجُلٌ فَلْتَذْبَحْ أَعْقَلُهُنَّ وَ لْتَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهَا.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from al-Halabiy, from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about an animal slaughtered by a child. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is acceptable if the child is intelligent, five shibr (a certain unit of measurement) in height and able to use the knife.’ About women he (the Imam) said, ‘If they are all women and no men among them, then the one most intelligent must slaughter and mention the name of Allah on the animal to be slaughtered.’”
