قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع أَكْلُ الْجَوْزِ فِي شِدَّةِ الْحَرِّ يُهَيِّجُ الْحَرَّ فِي الْجَوْفِ وَ يُهَيِّجُ الْقُرُوحَ عَلَى الْجَسَدِ وَ أَكْلُهُ فِي الشِّتَاءِ يُسَخِّنُ الْكُلْيَتَيْنِ وَ يَدْفَعُ الْبَرْدَ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from af-Nawfafiy from af-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’Eating walnut in hot weather stirs heat inside and blisters on the body; but eating it in winter warms up the kidneys and repels cold.’”
