5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa or others from ‘Abd al-Rahman from Hammad ibn Zakariya who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that herbs were mentioned before the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, he (the Messenger of Allah) said, Tat leeks because its likeness in herbs is like bread in other foods’ or he said ‘sauce.’” Uncertainty is from Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub.
