قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِي ع إِنَّ بِلَادَنَا بِلَادٌ بَارِدَةٌ فَمَا تَقُولُ فِي لُبْسِ هَذَا الْوَبَرِ قَالَ الْبَسْ مِنْهَا مَا أُكِلَ وَ ضُمِنَ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Uthman ibn Sa‘id from ‘Abd al-Karim al-Hamadaniy from abu Tamamah who has said the following: “I once asked abu Ja‘far, al-Thaniy (a.s.), saying, ‘Our land is cold. What do you say about wearing fur?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Wear that which is from edible animals and verify (that it is from edible animals).”’
