1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Giving charity or setting free a slave is not valid unless it is for the sake of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious.”’

[1]النحل: العطية( النهاية) و فيه الرقبى لمن أرقبها هو ان يقول الرجل للرجل: قد وهبت لك هذه الدار فان مت قبلى رجعت الى و ان مت قبلك فهي لك و هي المراقبة لان كل واحد منهما يرقب موت صاحبه. و قال: أعمرته عمرى أي جعلتها له ليسكنها مدة عمره فإذا مات عادت الى و كذا كانوا يفعلون في الجاهلية فأبطل ذلك و أعلمهم أن من أعمر شيئا أو أرقبه في حياته فهو لورثته من بعده.ص 30
