سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يَسْأَلُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع أَوْ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَخٍ وَ جَدٍّ قَالَ يُجْعَلُ الْمَالُ بَيْنَهُمَا نِصْفَيْنِ.

Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from abu al-Mighra’ from Sama‘ah from abu Basir who has narrated the following: “I once heard a man asking abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, when I was with him (the Imam), about the son of a brother and a grandfather. He (the Imam) said, ‘The legacy is made half and half between the two of them.’”
