سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قُتِلَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أَوْ قَرِيبٍ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ وَ لَمْ تُوجَدْ بَيِّنَةٌ عَلَى أَهْلِ تِلْكَ الْقَرْيَةِ أَنَّهُ قُتِلَ عِنْدَهُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْءٌ.

Ali, from his father, from one of his companions, from Aasim Bin Humeyd, from Muhammad Bin Qays who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far asws saying: ‘If a man is killed in a town, or near to the town, and no evidence is found upon the people of that town that he was killed in their presence, so there would not be anything upon them’.
