A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Ziyad al-Qandi from abu Waki’ from ibn Ishaq al-Sabi’i from al-Harith al-A’War from Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘The world and dirham (money) have destroyed those who lived before you and they will destroy you also.’”
