عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ع قَالَ

كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع يَقُولُ‌ الدُّعَاءُ يَدْفَعُ الْبَلَاءَ النَّازِلَ وَ مَا لَمْ يَنْزِلْ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ from abu al-Hassan (a.s.) who has said the following: “Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) has said, ‘Prayer and pleading before Allah for help, repels the misfortune that has already come down and that which has not yet come down.’”
