إِنَّ فِي كِتَابِ عَلِيٍّ ع أَنَّ الْهِرَّ سَبُعٌ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِسُؤْرِهِ وَ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ اللَّهِ أَنْ أَدَعَ طَعَاماً لِأَنَّ هِرّاً أَكَلَ مِنْهُ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Umar ibn ‘Udhaynah from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that it is in the book of Ali (a.s.), that cats are beasts but there is no offense in using the leftover of what they eat. I feel embarrassed before Allah to throw away a food from which a cat has eaten.’”
