سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ يُقَالُ الْأَرْضُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ كَالْقَصْعَةِ يَمُدُّ يَدَهُ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ يَشَاءُ قَالَ نَعَمْ.

24. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthaman from al-Mufaddal ibn Salih from Zayd al-Shahham who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about the angel of death saying, ‘Is it true, as it is said that he observes the whole earth like a bowl on his palm and stretches his hand to it as he likes?’ He replied, ‘Yes, that is true.’”
