English translationMuhammad Sarwar

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from Zur’ah from Sama‘ah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who is a captive of the pagans. It becomes time for Salah (prayer) and they do not allow him to perform Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) said, ‘He makes gestures as gestures are made.”’
