4. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about lamb when Zakat is obligatory for it. He (the Imam) said, ‘Zakat is obligatory when it becomes Jadha‘ (one year old).

[1]في النهاية: و فيه كأنى بجبار يعمد إلى سخلى فيقتله: السخل: المولود المحبب إلى أبويه و هو في الأصل ولد الغنم. و قال: أصل الجذع من أسنان الدوابّ و هو ما كان منها شابا فتيا فهو من الإبل ما دخل في السنة الخامسة و من البقر و المعز ما دخل في السنة الثانية و قيل: البقر في الثالثة و من الضان ما تمت له سنة و قيل أقل منها.ص 536
