1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from Hariz from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who runs away from paying Zakat by means of buying a piece of land or a house, if he still owes any Zakat. He (the Imam) said, ’No, he does not owe any Zakat even if he turns his asset into jewelries and silver; there is not anything on him. However, what he has denied his soul by the virtue of paying Zakat is much more than what he has saved by means of holding back the right of Allah that could have existed in his asset.”’
