سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ رَجُلٍ لَبَّى بِحَجَّةٍ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ وَ لَيْسَ يُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ قَالَ لَيْسَ بِشَيْءٍ وَ لَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about a man who says Talbiyah for al-Hajj or al-‘Umrah but does not want to perform al-Hajj. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not valid and it is not proper for him to do so.’”
