Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Sahl from his father who has said the following: “Regarding my question before abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), about the case of a man who rents a ship or house from another man for a year or more or less. He (the Imam) said, ‘Payment of rent up to the end of the term is incumbent, but accepting payment of rent or leaving it is up to the owner who may like to receive or leave it.’”
