2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Najran from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “About the case of a man who marries a woman and goes to bed with her, then she asks for payment of mahr (dower), abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘His going to bed with her destroys immediate payability of mahr (dower) which was for immediate payment.’”
