وَ سُمِّيَ الْخَيْفُ خَيْفاً لِأَنَّهُ مُرْتَفِعٌ عَنِ الْوَادِي وَ كُلُّ مَا ارْتَفَعَ عَنِ الْوَادِي سُمِّيَ خَيْفاً.
