وَ سَأَلَ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى مَوْلَى آلِ سَامٍ- أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع كَمْ كَانَ طُولُ مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ كَانَ ثَلَاثَةَ آلَافٍ وَ سِتَّمِائَةِ ذِرَاعٍ مُكَسَّرَةً.

Hadith.683 - Abd al-Ala, the freedman of Ale Saam, asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about the dimensions of the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (sw). Imam (as) said: "It was three thousand and six hundred cubits, broken up (referring to its measured parts)”.

[1]قال في المغرب: الذراع المكسر ست قبضات و هي ذراع العامّة و انما وصفت بذلك لانها نقصت عن ذراع الملك بقبضة و هو بعض الاكاسرة و كانت ذراعه سبع قبضات. و لعلّ المراد بالمكسر المضروب بعضها في بعض أي كان هذا في حاصل ضرب الطول في العرض و يحتمل الأول كما في المرآة.ص 229
