قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَجِيءُ كُلُّ غَادِرٍ بِإِمَامٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَائِلًا شِدْقُهُ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ النَّارَ
5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al- Ash’ath from ‘Abd Allah ibn Hammad al-Ansari from Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Hassan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment all the treacherous people will come with an Imam whose mouth will be badly deformed and end up in the fire.’”

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَ هُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْكُوفَةِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَوْ لَا كَرَاهِيَةُ الْغَدْرِ كُنْتُ مِنْ أَدْهَى النَّاسِ أَلَا إِنَّ لِكُلِّ غُدَرَةٍ فُجَرَةً وَ لِكُلِّ فُجَرَةٍ كُفَرَةً أَلَا وَ إِنَّ الْغَدْرَ وَ الْفُجُورَ وَ الْخِيَانَةَ فِي النَّارِ.
6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ali ibn Asbat from his uncle Ya’qub ibn Salim from abu al-Hassan al-‘Abdi from Sa’d ibn Tarif from al- Asbagh ibn Nubatah who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) one day in his speech from the pulpit in al- Kufah said, ‘O people, were it not for my intense dislike of treachery I could have been the most clever among people. You must know that in every act of treachery there is a sin of disbelief. You must also know that treachery, sins and dishonesty are all in the fire (of hell).’”

قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع يَا أَبَا النُّعْمَانِ لَا تَكْذِبْ عَلَيْنَا كَذِبَةً فَتُسْلَبَ الْحَنِيفِيَّةَ وَ لَا تَطْلُبَنَّ أَنْ تَكُونَ رَأْساً فَتَكُونَ ذَنَباً وَ لَا تَسْتَأْكِلِ النَّاسَ بِنَا فَتَفْتَقِرَ فَإِنَّكَ مَوْقُوفٌ لَا مَحَالَةَ وَ مَسْئُولٌ فَإِنْ صَدَقْتَ صَدَّقْنَاكَ وَ إِنْ كَذَبْتَ كَذَّبْنَاكَ.
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar from abu al-Nu’man who has said the following: “Once abu Ja’far (a.s.) said to me, ‘O abu al-Nu’man, do not forge lies against us; it removes (your) true belief. Do not seek to be the head to become a sin and do not use people as means of your earning through us; it will make you poor. You will be held accountable and will be stopped for interrogations. If you speak the truth we will certify you and, if you lie, we will reject you.’”

كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ص يَقُولُ لِوُلْدِهِ اتَّقُوا الْكَذِبَ الصَّغِيرَ مِنْهُ وَ الْكَبِيرَ فِي كُلِّ جِدٍّ وَ هَزْلٍ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا كَذَبَ فِي الصَّغِيرِ اجْتَرَى عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ أَ مَا عَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ مَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ يَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يَكْتُبَهُ اللَّهُ صِدِّيقاً وَ مَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ يَكْذِبُ حَتَّى يَكْتُبَهُ اللَّهُ كَذَّاباً.
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Isma’il ibn Mehran from Sayf ibn ‘ Amirah from those whom has mentioned (in his book) from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) would say to his children, ‘Be on your guard against lies, the small lies and the bigger lies in all the serious and trivial matters. If a man lies in a small matter, he grows bold to lie in a bigger one. Have you not noted that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘As long as a servant (of Allah) speaks the truth Allah writes him down as the truthful one and, if one continues speaking lies Allah writes him down as a liar?

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَ لِلشَّرِّ أَقْفَالًا وَ جَعَلَ مَفَاتِيحَ تِلْكَ الْأَقْفَالِ الشَّرَابَ وَ الْكَذِبُ شَرٌّ مِنَ الشَّرَابِ.
3. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ibn Muskan from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has created certain locks for evil. He has made wine the key to those locks. Lying is more evil than wine.”

[1]كأن المراد بالاقفال الأمور المانعة من ارتكاب الشرور من العقل و ما يتبعه و يستلزمه من الحياء من اللّه و من الخلق و التفكر في قبحها و عقوباتها و مفاسدها الدنيوية و الاخروية و الشراب يزيل العقل و بزوالها ترتفع جميع تلك الموانع فتفتح جميع الاقفال و كأنّ المراد بالكذب الذي هو شر من الشراب الكذب على اللّه و على حججه عليهم السلام و تحليل الاشربة المحرمة ثمرة من ثمرات هذا الكذب فان المخالفين بمثل ذلك حللوها و قد يقال: الشر في الثاني أيضا صفة مشبهة و« من» تعليلية و المعنى أن الكذب أيضا شر ينشأ من الشراب، لئلا ينافى ما يأتي في كتاب الاشربة« أن شرب الخمر أكبر الكبائر»( آت).ص 339
