1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment of the people the one who suffers the most intense suffering is one who places his seed in the womb of one who with whom going to bed is unlawful.’”

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from and ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu Ibrahim (a.s.), has said, ‘Stay away from fornication, it destroys one’s sustenance and invalidates one’s religion.’”

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy fm ‘Abd Allah ibn Maymun al- Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has narrated from his father who has said that one who commits fornication faces six troubling issues, of which three are in this world and three in the next life. In this world it takes away light and beauty from his face, brings poverty and quicker death. In the next life, it is the anger of Allah, worse account and living in the fire forever.’”

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from Malik ibn ‘Atiyyah from abu ‘Ubaydah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is in the book of Ali (a.s.), that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When people after me will commit fornication in increasing numbers the number of deaths suddenly will also increase.’””

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “Once I was with Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), when a man came and said, ‘O abu Muhammad, I am addicted to women. One day I commit fornication and the other day I fast; if this can become expiation for the sin.’ Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), said, ‘There is not anything more beloved to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, than obedience to Him and not to disobey Him. So you must not fornicate and you must not fast.’ Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), pulled him to himself holding his hand and said, ‘O fornicator, you do the deeds of the people of hell and hope to enter paradise?”’

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad fm Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ali ibn Suwayd who has said the following: “I once said to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘I am addicted to looking at beautiful women and I like looking at them. He (the Imam) said, ‘O Ali, it is not unlawful if Allah finds that your intention is truthful, but you must remain on your guard against fornication because it destroys bounties and invalidates religion.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and a number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from abu al-‘ Ab has al-Kufiy all from ‘Anar ibn ‘ Uthman from ‘ Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Once the disciples of Jesus gathered around him and said, “O teacher of goodness teach us guidance.” Jesus said to them, “Moses has commanded you not to falsely swear by Allah and I command you not to swear even in a truthful manner.” They said, “O Spirit of Allah, please give us more guidance.” He then said, “Moses, the Holy Prophet of Allah, has commanded you not to commit fornication and I command you not to even speak to your souls about fornication, not to speak of committing fornication, because one who speaks to his soul about fornication is like one who decorates a house and smoke destroys the house even though it does not burn down the whole house.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz ibn ‘Abd Allah from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “In fornication there are five disturbing issues: It destroys the beauty of the face, causes poverty, shortens one’s life, makes the Beneficent angry, and sends one to the hellfire to suffer therein forever.’”
