1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibrahim ibn ‘Umar al-Yamaniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Every time Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent a Prophet it was in the knowledge of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, that in the case of completing His religion wine must have been made unlawful. It had to remain unlawful, however, religion is to change the habits one after the other. Were such change to take place all at once, people would boycott religion as a whole.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah abu Ayyub from Musa ibn Bakr from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ’Every time Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent a Prophet, it was in the knowledge of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, that in the case of completing His religion wine must have been made unlawful. It had to remain unlawful, however, religion is to change the habits one after the other. Were such change to take place at once people would boycott religion as a whole.’”

It had to remain unlawful, however, religion is to change the habits one after the other. Were such change to take place at once people would boycott religion as a whole.’ Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘No one is more kind than Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and it is of the kindness of Allah, most Blessed, most High, that He transfers them from one habit to the other. Were He to change them at once they would have been destroyed.’”
