1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Hammad from abu af-Jarud who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘My father narrated to me from his father (a.s.), that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘A wine addict is like an idol worshipper.’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What is a ‘Mudmin’?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He is one who drinks whenever he finds.’”

2. Muhammad ibn Ja‘far has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Ibn abu Ya’fur ibn abu Ya’fur-Hamid from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Mansur ibn Hazim who has said that narrated to me abu Basir from ibn abu Ya’fur who have said the following: “We once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘A wine addict is not one who drinks every day, he however, is one who settles his soul upon drinking it whenever he finds it.’”

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Mansur ibn al-‘Abbas from Ali ibn Yaqtin from Hashim ibn Khalid from Nu’aym al-Basriy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A wine addict is one who drinks whenever he finds.’”
