سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ ع أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ: مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ كَعَابِدِ وَثَنٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَ مَا الْمُدْمِنُ قَالَ الَّذِي إِذَا وَجَدَهَا شَرِبَهَا.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Hammad from abu af-Jarud who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘My father narrated to me from his father (a.s.), that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘A wine addict is like an idol worshipper.’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What is a ‘Mudmin’?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He is one who drinks whenever he finds.’”
