الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ

1. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Ishaq ibn Ja‘far who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me, ‘Son, keep sheep but do not keep camels.’”

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Amr ibn Aban who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best asset is sheep.’”

3. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Ubays ibn Hisham from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You must clean the fold of the sheep and dust from them.’”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِذَا اتَّخَذَ أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ شَاةً أَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ بِرِزْقِهَا وَ زَادَ فِي أَرْزَاقِهِمْ وَ ارْتَحَلَ الْفَقْرُ عَنْهُمْ مَرْحَلَةً فَإِنِ اتَّخَذَ شَاتَيْنِ أَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَرْزَاقِهِمَا وَ زَادَ فِي أَرْزَاقِهِمْ وَ ارْتَحَلَ الْفَقْرُ عَنْهُمْ مَرْحَلَتَيْنِ فَإِنِ اتَّخَذُوا ثَلَاثَةً أَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَرْزَاقِهِمْ وَ ارْتَحَلَ الْفَقْرُ عَنْهُمْ رَأْساً.

4. Through the same chain of narrators as that of the previous Hadith the following is narrated: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a family keeps one sheep, Allah provides her sustenance, increases their sustenance and dispels poverty from them by a distance (of one day’s journey). If a family keeps two sheep, Allah provides their sustenance and increases their sustenance and dispels poverty from them by two distances, when the family keeps three sheep Allah provides their sustenance and dispels poverty from the family in its totality.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكُونُ عِنْدَهُمْ شَاةٌ لَبُونٌ إِلَّا قُدِّسُوا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ قُلْتُ وَ كَيْفَ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ قَالَ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ بُورِكْتُمْ بُورِكْتُمْ.

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Muhammad ibn al-‘Ajlan who has said the following: “I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘If a family keeps a milking sheep, such family is revered twice a day.’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What is said to such family?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is said to the family, “You have received blessings, you have received blessings.’””

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ يَكُونُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ عَنْزٌ حَلُوبٌ إِلَّا قُدِّسَ أَهْلُ‌ ذَلِكَ الْمَنْزِلِ وَ بُورِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَإِنْ كَانَتَا اثْنَتَيْنِ قُدِّسُوا وَ بُورِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا وَ كَيْفَ يُقَدَّسُونَ قَالَ يَقِفُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَلَكٌ فِي كُلِّ صَبَاحٍ فَيَقُولُ لَهُمْ قُدِّسْتُمْ وَ بُورِكَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ طِبْتُمْ وَ طَابَ إِدَامُكُمْ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَ مَا مَعْنَى قُدِّسْتُمْ قَالَ طُهِّرْتُمْ.

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from Muhammad ibn Marid who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘If a family keeps a milking goat, reverence and blessing is sent on them. If they are two, the family is revered and blessed twice a day.’ Certain persons of our people then said, ‘How are they revered?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘An angels stands on them every morning and says, “You are revered and blessed, you are fine and your sauce is fine.’ I then asked, ‘What is the meaning of ‘ qudistum ’ (you are revered)?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It means, ‘You are cleansed.’”

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ:

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لِعَمَّتِهِ مَا يَمْنَعُكِ أَنْ تَتَّخِذِي فِي بَيْتِكِ بَرَكَةً قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا الْبَرَكَةُ قَالَ شَاةٌ تُحْلَبُ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي دَارِهِ شَاةٌ تُحْلَبُ أَوْ نَعْجَةٌ أَوْ بَقَرَةٌ تُحْلَبُ فَبَرَكَاتٌ كُلُّهُنَّ.

7. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ibn abu Najran from abu Jamilah from Jabir who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once said to his aunt, ‘What keeps you from having a blessing in your home?’ She asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is a blessing?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘It is a sheep that you can milk. If one keeps a sheep in his home to milk or an ewe or a cow to milk they all are blessings.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ:

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ لَهَا مَا لِي لَا أَرَى فِي بَيْتِكِ الْبَرَكَةَ قَالَتْ بَلَى وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ إِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ لَفِي بَيْتِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنْزَلَ ثَلَاثَ بَرَكَاتٍ الْمَاءَ وَ النَّارَ وَ الشَّاةَ.

8. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad from Hariz from abu al-Jarud who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that once the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, went to the house of ‘Umm Salamah and said to her, ‘Why is it that I do not see blessing in your house?’ She said, ‘Yes, all praise belongs to Allah, there are blessings in my house.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has sent three kinds of blessings which are water, fire and sheep.’”

9. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah, from his father, from Sulayman al-Ja‘fariy who in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If any family keeps thirty sheep in the evening in their house, angels continue to protect them until the morning.’”
