بَابُ مَنْ مَنَعَ مُؤْمِناً شَيْئاً مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِهِ‌

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ أَحْنَفَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَنَعَ مُؤْمِناً شَيْئاً مِمَّا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ وَ هُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِهِ أَقَامَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُسْوَدّاً وَجْهُهُ مُزْرَقَّةً عَيْنَاهُ‌ مَغْلُولَةً يَدَاهُ إِلَى عُنُقِهِ فَيُقَالُ هَذَا الْخَائِنُ الَّذِي خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ ثُمَّ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Abu Ali al-Ash’ari from Muhammad ibn Hassan all from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Furat ibn Ahnaf from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If a believer refuses to give a needy believer something that he from his own or from another person can provide, due to such refusal on the Day of Judgment, Allah will raise him (refusing to help) with his face blackened, his eyes turned blue, his hands chained to his neck and it will be said, ‘Violator of trust who breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah,’ and then he is ordered into the fire.’”

ابْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ قَالَ

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ يَا يُونُسُ مَنْ حَبَسَ حَقَّ الْمُؤْمِنِ أَقَامَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ خَمْسَمِائَةِ عَامٍ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَسِيلَ عَرَقُهُ أَوْ دَمُهُ‌ وَ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ هَذَا الظَّالِمُ الَّذِي حَبَسَ عَنِ اللَّهِ حَقَّهُ قَالَ فَيُوَبَّخُ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً ثُمَّ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ.

2. Ibn Sinan has narrated from Yunus ibn Zabyan who has said the following: “Once Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said to me, ‘O Yunus, whoever hinders a believer’s rights, because of such hindrance, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, on the Day of Judgment will make him stand up on his feet for five hundred years until his sweat or blood flow and an announcer will announce from Allah, ‘This unjust is the one who hindered the right of Allah.’ The Imam said, ‘He will be ridiculed for forty years and then will be ordered to the fire.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ دَارٌ فَاحْتَاجَ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَى سُكْنَاهَا فَمَنَعَهُ إِيَّاهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَا مَلَائِكَتِي أَ بَخِلَ عَبْدِي عَلَى عَبْدِي بِسُكْنَى الدَّارِ الدُّنْيَا وَ عِزَّتِي وَ جَلَالِي لَا يَسْكُنُ جِنَانِي أَبَداً.

3. Muhammad ibn Sinan has narrated from Mufaddal ibn ‘Umar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If one has a home and a believer needs a place to live and is denied to use the house, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, says, ‘O My angels. My servant has denied My other servant a living place in the worldly home, by My Majesty and Glory, he will never live in My paradise.’”

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ‌ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَنْ أَتَاهُ أَخُوهُ الْمُؤْمِنُ فِي حَاجَةٍ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ رَحْمَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ سَاقَهَا إِلَيْهِ فَإِنْ قَبِلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ وَصَلَهُ بِوَلَايَتِنَا وَ هُوَ مَوْصُولٌ بِوَلَايَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ إِنْ رَدَّهُ عَنْ حَاجَتِهِ وَ هُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى قَضَائِهَا سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ شُجَاعاً مِنْ نَارٍ يَنْهَشُهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُ أَوْ مُعَذَّبٌ فَإِنْ عَذَرَهُ الطَّالِبُ كَانَ أَسْوَأَ حَالًا قَالَ وَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَصَدَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ مُسْتَجِيراً بِهِ فِي بَعْضِ أَحْوَالِهِ فَلَمْ يُجِرْهُ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ قَطَعَ وَلَايَةَ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى.

4. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah from Ali ibn Ja’far who has said the following: “I heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever has a brother (in belief) who comes to him for help it is a favor to him from Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, Who has sent to him. If he accepted it (the favor) he has connected his guardianship with ours, which is connected with the guardianship of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, and if he did not help while capable of helping, Allah will make a serpent from the fire to bite him in his grave up to the Day of Judgment when he may be forgiven or punished, and if the needy person accepts his (unreal) apology, it will be much worse for him. ’ “I (the narrator) heard the Imam saying, ‘Whoever has a brother (in belief) who comes to him for help in his needy condition, but does not provide help while capable to help, he (refusing to help) has cut off the guardianship of Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High.”
