بَابُ الْإِغْضَاءِ

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

كَانَ عِنْدَهُ قَوْمٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ إِذْ ذَكَرَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلًا فَوَقَعَ فِيهِ‌ وَ شَكَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ أَنَّى لَكَ بِأَخِيكَ كُلِّهِ وَ أَيُّ الرِّجَالِ الْمُهَذَّبُ‌.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Hajjal from Tha’Labah ibn Maymun from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Once in the presence of Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) there were people speaking to him. One man mentioned the name of another man and he began to criticize him and complained against him. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) asked, ‘Where from can you have a perfect brother? Who is among man, free and pure of faults and flaws?”’

[4]« بأخيك كله» أي كل الأخ يعنى التام في الاخوة. و المعنى أنّه لا يحصل ذلك الا نادرا فتوقع ذلك كتوقع أمر محال، فارض عن الناس بالقليل. و تمام البيت هكذا:ص 651

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ لَا تُفَتِّشِ النَّاسَ فَتَبْقَى بِلَا صَدِيقٍ

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam and Muhammad ibn Sinan from, Ali ibn abu Hamza from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Do not be a spy against people; you will remain without friends.’”
