بَابُ الْقَوْلِ عِنْدَ رُؤْيَةِ الْجَنَازَةِ

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبَانٍ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ:

كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع إِذَا رَأَى جَنَازَةً قَدْ أَقْبَلَتْ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ السَّوَادِ الْمُخْتَرَمِ‌.

1. I do not know about him more of his name - from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), on seeing a dead body brought near, would say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who has not brought my life to an end.’”

[1]اخترم فلان عنا- مبنيا للمفعول-: مات، و اخترمته المنية: أخذته، و اخترمهم الدهر و تخرمهم اي اقتطعهم و استأصلهم، و لا ينافى هذا حبّ لقاء اللّه اما لانه مختص بحالة الاحتضار و المعاينة كما مرّ و اما لان المراد الحمد للّه الذي لم يجعلنى من عامة الناس الذين يموتون على غير بصيرة و لا استعداد للموت او كان المخترم كناية عن الكافر لانه الهالك على الإطلاق و على الآخرين يكون هذا القول مختصا ببعض الجنائز.( فى)ص 167

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ النَّهْدِيِّ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ:

كَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع إِذَا رَأَى جَنَازَةً قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ السَّوَادِ الْمُخْتَرَمِ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Musa ibn al-Hassan from abu al-Hassan al-Nahdi in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), when seeing a dead person would say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who has not placed me among the masses whose lives have already ended.’”

حُمَيْدٌ عَنِ ابْنِ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الطَّائِيِّ عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَنِ اسْتَقْبَلَ جَنَازَةً أَوْ رَآهَا فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ هذا ما وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ وَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ‌ اللَّهُمَّ زِدْنَا إِيماناً وَ تَسْلِيماً الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي تَعَزَّزَ بِالْقُدْرَةِ وَ قَهَرَ الْعِبَادَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَمْ يَبْقَ فِي السَّمَاءِ مَلَكٌ إِلَّا بَكَى رَحْمَةً لِصَوْتِهِ.

3. Humayd has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Muhammad ibn Mas’ud al-Ta’i from ‘Anbasah ibn Mus’ab who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If one finds a dead body brought from the opposite direction or just sees one and says, “Allah is great. This is what Allah and His Messenger have told us will happen to us and Allah and His Messenger have indeed spoken the truth. O Lord, increase our belief and submission. All praise belongs to Allah who is Most Majestic due to His power and who has subdued people by death,” no angel is left in the heavens but will weep out of sympathy for the tone of his voice.””’
