مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ أَقِرُّوا الْحَارَّ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامٌ حَارٌّ فَقَالَ أَقِرُّوهُ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ- مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِيُطْعِمَنَا النَّارَ وَ الْبَرَكَةُ فِي الْبَارِدِ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’Leave the hot (food) until it becomes cold. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once was given hot food and he (the Messenger of Allah) said, “Leave it until it becomes cold. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is not the one to feed us fire; the blessing is in the cold.’””

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ حَارٍّ جِدّاً فَقَالَ مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِيُطْعِمَنَا النَّارَ أَقِرُّوهُ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ وَ يُمْكِنَ فَإِنَّهُ طَعَامٌ مَمْحُوقُ الْبَرَكَةِ وَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ فِيهِ نَصِيبٌ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that once very hot food was brought to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, who said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is not to feed us fire. Leave it until it becomes cold and possible to eat it. Hot food is without blessing and Satan has a share in it.’”

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn Hakim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that hot food is devoid of blessings.’”

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ‘Once, hot food was brought to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is not the one to feed us what is similar to fire. Wait, until it becomes cold’, thus, it was left to become cold.’”

حَضَرْتُ عَشَاءَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فِي الصَّيْفِ فَأُتِيَ بِخِوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةِ ثَرِيدٍ وَ لَحْمٍ فَقَالَ هَلُمَّ إِلَيَّ هَذَا الطَّعَامَ فَدَنَوْتُ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ وَ رَفَعَهَا وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ أَسْتَجِيرُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ هَذَا مَا لَا نَصْبِرُ عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ هَذَا مَا لَا نَقْوَى عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ هَذَا مَا لَا نُطِيقُهُ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ قَالَ وَ كَانَ ع يُكَرِّرُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَمْكَنَ الطَّعَامُ فَأَكَلَ وَ أَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ.

5. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Mahbub from Yunus ibn Ya’qub from Sulayman ibn Khalid who has said the following: “I once attended dinner with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), in the summer and they brought a table-spread with bread inside it and a bowl of Tharid (bread made in pieces in broth) and meat. He (the Imam) said, ‘Come for food.’ I went close. He (the Imam) placed his hand in it and pulled back saying, ‘I seek refuge with Allah against fire, I seek protection with Allah against fire, I seek protection with Allah against fire. We cannot bear this, how the fire will be, we cannot bear with this, how the fire will be, we cannot bear with this, how the fire will be.’ He (the Imam) kept repeating it until it became possible to eat the food. He (the Imam) ate and we ate with him.’”
