قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ أَقِرُّوا الْحَارَّ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامٌ حَارٌّ فَقَالَ أَقِرُّوهُ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ- مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِيُطْعِمَنَا النَّارَ وَ الْبَرَكَةُ فِي الْبَارِدِ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’Leave the hot (food) until it becomes cold. إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ حَارٍّ جِدّاً فَقَالَ مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِيُطْعِمَنَا النَّارَ أَقِرُّوهُ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ وَ يُمْكِنَ فَإِنَّهُ طَعَامٌ مَمْحُوقُ الْبَرَكَةِ وَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ فِيهِ نَصِيبٌ.

حَضَرْتُ عَشَاءَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فِي الصَّيْفِ فَأُتِيَ بِخِوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةِ ثَرِيدٍ وَ لَحْمٍ فَقَالَ هَلُمَّ إِلَيَّ هَذَا الطَّعَامَ فَدَنَوْتُ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ وَ رَفَعَهَا وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ أَسْتَجِيرُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ هَذَا مَا لَا نَصْبِرُ عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ هَذَا مَا لَا نَقْوَى عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ

“I once attended dinner with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), in the summer and they brought a table-spread with bread inside it and a bowl of Tharid (bread made in pieces in broth) and meat. He (the Imam) said, ‘Come for food.’ I went close. He (the Imam) placed his hand in it and pulled back saying, ‘I seek refuge with Allah a
