’From whatever soil one is created in that soil one is buried also.’”

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ إِنَّ النُّطْفَةَ إِذَا وَقَعَتْ فِي الرَّحِمِ بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَلَكاً فَأَخَذَ مِنَ التُّرْبَةِ الَّتِي يُدْفَنُ فِيهَا فَمَاثَهَا[1] فِي النُّطْفَةِ فَلَا يَزَالُ قَلْبُهُ يَحِنُ[2] إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى يُدْفَنَ فِيهَا.
“I once heard abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘When al-Nutfah (seed, sperm) falls in the womb Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sends an angel who takes from the soil in which he is to be buried and dissolves it into the al-Nutfah. His heart continues yearning for that place until he is buried therein.’”
