سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَنْسَى تَكْبِيرَةَ الِافْتِتَاحِ قَالَ يُعِيدُ.
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about one who forgets the opening Takbir (Allah is great beyond description). He (the Imam) said, ‘He says it again.’”

فِي الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي فَلَمْ يَفْتَتِحْ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ هَلْ تُجْزِئُهُ تَكْبِيرَةُ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ لَا بَلْ يُعِيدُ صَلَاتَهُ إِذَا حَفِظَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُكَبِّرْ.
“About a man who performs Salah (prayer) but forgets to say the opening Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) if Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) for Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees) is sufficient. “Al-Rida (a.s.), has said, ‘An Imam carries and sustains the conjectures of those who are behind him except the opening Takbir (Allah is great beyond description).”’
