Marriage with a Woman and Her Maternal or Paternal Aunt

لَا تُزَوَّجُ ابْنَةُ الْأَخِ وَ لَا ابْنَةُ الْأُخْتِ عَلَى الْعَمَّةِ وَ لَا عَلَى الْخَالَةِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِمَا وَ تُزَوَّجُ الْعَمَّةُ وَ الْخَالَةُ عَلَى ابْنَةِ الْأَخِ وَ ابْنَةِ الْأُخْتِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِمَا[2].

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not marry a daughter of a brother or daughter of a sister as a second wife, the first being her paternal or maternal aunt without their permission and you must not marry a paternal or maternal aunt as a second wife, the first being a daughter of her brother or a daughter of her s

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَ لَا خَالَتِهَا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ الْعَمَّةِ وَ الْخَالَةِ.

‘You must not marry a woman as a second wife, the first being her paternal or maternal aunt, without her permission.’”
