سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع- عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ وَرِثَتْ زَوْجَهَا فَأَعْتَقَتْهُ هَلْ يَكُونَانِ عَلَى نِكَاحِهِمَا الْأَوَّلِ قَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ يُجَدِّدَانِ نِكَاحاً.

Humeyr Bin Ziyad, from Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Bin Sama’at, from Ja’far Bin Sama’at, and someone else, from Aban Bin Usman, from Al Fazl Bin Abdul Malik who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah asws about a woman who inherited her husband (a slave), so she emancipated him. Would they both happen to be upon their first marriage?’ He asws said: ‘No, but they would both be renewing their marriage’.
