سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع- عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَقَعَ عَلَى جَارِيَةٍ لَهُ تَذْهَبُ وَ تَجِيءُ وَ قَدْ عَزَلَ عَنْهَا وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْهُ إِلَيْهَا شَيْءٌ مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْوَلَدِ قَالَ أَرَى أَنْ لَا يُبَاعَ هَذَا يَا سَعِيدُ قَالَ وَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع فَقَالَ أَ يَتَّهِمُهَا فَقُلْتُ أَمَّا تُهَمَةً ظَاهِرَةً فَلَا قَالَ فَيَتَّهِمُهَا أَهْلُكَ فَقُلْتُ أَمَّا شَيْءٌ ظَاهِرٌ فَلَا قَالَ فَكَيْفَ تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ لَا يَلْزَمَكَ الْوَلَدُ.

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali, from Hammad Bin Usman, from Saeed Bin Yasaar who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah asws about a man who fell upon a slave girl of his who used to go and come, and he had isolated himself from her and there did not happen to be anything from him to her. What are you asws saying regarding the child?’ He asws said: ‘I asws view that he should not sell this (child), O Saeed!’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And I asked Abu Al-Hassan asws , so he asws said: ‘Is he accusing her?’ So I said, ‘As for the apparent accusation, so no’. He asws said: ‘So, is his family accusing her?’ So I said, ‘As for something apparent, so no’. He asws said: ‘So how can he have the leeway that the child would not be necessitated on him?’
