قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنِّي أَسْتَعِيرُ كَلْبَ الْمَجُوسِيِّ فَأَصِيدُ بِهِ فَقَالَ ع لَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْ صَيْدِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ عَلَّمَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فَتَعَلَّمَهُ.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mansur ibn Yunus from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn Siyabah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about my borrowing the dog of a Zoroastrian person for hunting. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not use it for food unless a Muslim has trained it and it has learned.’”
