2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mansur ibn Yunus from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn Siyabah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about my borrowing the dog of a Zoroastrian person for hunting. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not use it for food unless a Muslim has trained it and it has learned.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not use for food what the dog of a Zoroastrian person hunts, unless a Muslim has taken it to train and sends it to hunt. This applies to what the dogs of taxpayers and their falcons hunt, thus, it is lawful for the Muslims to use for food.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from Burayd ibn Mu‘awiyah al-‘Ijliy from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Whatever is hunted by swords, arrows and spears are lawful to use for food.’ He (the Imam) was asked about the prey, which is assigned to several people in portions before it dies. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”
