1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and a number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad all from ibn Mahbub from Khalid ibn Jarir from abu al-Rabi’ al-Shamiy who has said the following: “Once abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about wine. Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent me as mercy for the worlds. (Allah sent me) to eradicate playing tools, musical pipes and matters of the age of darkness, ignorance and idols.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) has said, ‘My Lord swears and says, “If any of My servants in the world drinks wine I will make him drink al-Hamim (boiling water of hell, that roasts the face when drinking) on the Day of Judgment, regardless of whether he will be made to suffer or will be forgiven. If anyone makes a child to drink wine or a slave, I will make him drink the same amount of al-Hamim, regardless of whether he will be made to suffer or will be forgiven.’”
