عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْمَكْفُوفِ قَالَ:

كَتَبْتُ إِلَيْهِ يَعْنِي أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلَ ع أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ السِّكَنْجَبِينِ‌ وَ الْجُلَّابِ وَ رُبِّ التُّوتِ وَ رُبِّ التُّفَّاحِ وَ رُبِّ السَّفَرْجَلِ وَ رُبِّ الرُّمَّانِ فَكَتَبَ حَلَالٌ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Mansur ibn al-‘Abbas from Ja‘far ibn Ahmad al-Makfuf who has said the following: “I once wrote to him, meaning, abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, and asked about oxymel, rose water, jam of mulberry, apple, quince and pomegranate. He (the Imam) said in writing, ’It is lawful. 5 ”
