كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَدَعَا بِأَثْوَابٍ فَذَرَعَ مِنْهُ فَعَمَدَ إِلَى خَمْسَةِ أَذْرُعٍ فَقَطَعَهَا ثُمَّ شَبَرَ عَرْضَهَا سِتَّةَ أَشْبَارٍ ثُمَّ شَقَّهُ وَ قَالَ شُدُّوا ضَفَّتَهُ وَ هَدِّبُوا طَرَفَيْهِ.

13. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Hudhayfah ibn Mansur who has said the following: “I once was with abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), and he asked for a piece of cloth. He (the Imam) took five yards from it, cut it, then measured it with his shibr and in width it was six shibr. He (the Imam) then asked to stitch its borders and trim its edges.’”

[1]ضفة الثوب: حاشيته اي جانب كان او جانب الذي لاهدب له فالمعنى اي خيطوها شديدا و هدبوا طرفيه اي اجعلوهما ذوى اهداب و يحتمل أن يكون بالذال المعجمة.ص 458
