عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ وَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ جَمِيعاً عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّ يُونُسَ قَالَ

يُؤْخَذُ السَّوْطُ مِنْ نِصْفِهِ فَيُضْرَبُ بِهِ وَ كَذَلِكَ الْأَقَلُّ وَ الْأَكْثَرُ.

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus, and from his father, from Ibn Abu Najran, altogether from Aasim Bin Humeyd, from Muhammad Bin Qays, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far asws similar to it, except that Yunus said, ‘The whip would be grabbed from its halfway, so he would whip with it, and similar to that is for the lesser (amount of lashes) and the more’.
