قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع قَضَى أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي رَجُلٍ أَعْوَرَ أُصِيبَتْ عَيْنُهُ الصَّحِيحَةُ فَفُقِئَتْ أَنْ تُفْقَأَ إِحْدَى عَيْنَيْ صَاحِبِهِ وَ يُعْقَلَ لَهُ نِصْفُ الدِّيَةِ وَ إِنْ شَاءَ أَخَذَ دِيَةً كَامِلَةً وَ يُعْفَى عَنْ عَيْنِ صَاحِبِهِ.

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, and Muhammad Bin Yahya,f rom Ahmad Bin Muhammad, both together from Ibn Abu Najran, from Aasim Bin Humeyd, from Muhammad Bin Qays who said, ‘Abu Ja’far asws said: ‘Amir Al-Momineen asws judged regarding a one-eyed man whose correct eye was hit, so it was blinded: ‘He can blind an eye of his companions and pay him half the wergild, and if he so desires to, he can take the complete wergild, and forgive an eye of his companion’.
