196. A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Al-Hajjaal, from Hamad, from Al-Halby, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘Intermingle with the people to find out about them, and when you find out about them, (only then) travel/associate with them’.

[3]قلى- كرضى-: أبغضه و كرهه غاية الكراهة. قال الجزريّ: فى حديث أبى الدرداء« وجدت الناس أخبر تقله» القلى: البغض، يقال: قلاه يقليه قلى و قلى إذا أبغضه. و قال الجوهريّ: إذا فتحت مددت و يقلاه لغة طى، يقول: جرب الناس فانّك إذا جربتهم قليتهم و تركتهم لما يظهر لك من بواطن سرائرهم، لفظه لفظ الامر و معناه معنى الخبر أي جربهم و خبرهم أبغضهم و تركهم و الهاء في« ثقله» للسكت و معنى نظم الحديث وجدت الناس مقولا فيهم هذا القول انتهى.ص 176
